The most recent addition of sculptors to Artworks Gallery is California artist, Cindy Jackson. A fine painter and sculptor, Jackson now exclusively devotes her creative skills to the classical art of bronze Jackson’s ability stems from her innate talent as a draftsman of the figure. She delicately works the figures in clay, dipping emotionally into the experiences familiar to us all. The strength in her works evokes a spiritual but contemporary message.
Jackson’s vitality is shown in new elegant works such as Ledge where a man is precariously holding a female suspended in space with an outstretched arm and hand. Twist is a piece devoted to the pleasure of love. It is not just about passion but also about the interaction of the lovers and how they get lost within each other. It is a precious and subtle moment centered within an eternity.
Cindy Jackson received her B.F.A. from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 1988.. She received a fellowship awarded in 1995 to young sculptors from the Joyce and Elliot Liskin Foundation in New York.
