Marc Bernstein is a paper and rare-book conservator, a conservation framing specialist, installation manager, and curator of the gallery at Artworks. He has been making and showing artwork for as long as he can remember. From local craft fairs as a child to many domestic and international exhibits as an adult, his work has always come from an intense need to make. “Even though I’ve spent my entire life learning about and making artwork, have an MFA degree, built a career in art, and continue to make art, I don’t consider myself an artist. I’m more of a technician. I’ll never re-invent the wheel, but I will keep working on the wheel”. In addition to his mixed-medium portraits on display at Artworks, Marc also offers portraiture in oil painting, charcoal drawing, and bronze sculpts.
