A multi-talented man. Michael Ethridge began his art career in Wynne, AR, under the capable tutelage of his mother, who was an accomplished wildlife and still life artist.
Michael’s love for what he does is reflected in his paintings. Most of the pieces Michael creates are abstracts, done in bold, vibrant colors, many on large canvas. He is currently featured in galleries in six states.
Michael is excited about seeing his art in the upcoming movie titled Nothing But the Truth, starring Kate Beckinsale, due out in December 2008.
Perhaps his biggest venture to date has been the commission to paint a series of luxury grand pianos for the Baldwin Piano Company. His first grand, “Beauty in B Minor”, sold to an international dealer within 15 minutes, and he has been busy since with more pianos.
His art has also been featured in national magazines such as Art Business News; Artists and Galleries of the South; and At Home in Arkansas, as well as many local and regional publications.
In addition to his love of painting, Michael is also a professional musician, and has performed on Carnival Cruise Line ships, as well as a starring role in a Memphis area production of Damn Yankees, appearances on The Nashville Network, and as the band leader of a popular mid south dance band.
“Abstract expressionism is where I am. The individuality and creativity of an artist can be shown in such a personal and unique way in this area of abstract art. Feelings, ideas, and the human spirit are depicted with great freedom in this genre to which I so closely identify.”
