Adriane Brown is an Austin artist that has been interested in art her whole life. Entering college she was introduced to oil paint as a medium and knew it would be a lifetime of study. Inspired by French impressionists such as Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet she became interested in dynamic composition and light within figurative and portrait painting, depicting the styles of the time. She received her BFA in painting from University of Oregon in 2006 and her MFA in painting from Academy of Art University on San Francisco 2012. She is interested in depicting individuals and their character by portraying them in their environment. Creating a portrait that is more complex than the traditional portrait. She is interested in contemporary people to create the kind of historical context that she saw in so many of the artists that have inspired her. She is available for portrait commissions and continues to create her work in Austin, TX.
